Anyone who sees this picture would say that it has nothing to do with sports, but it has much connection with what the families of athletes do thanks to the National Service for Athletes and their Families.
In this case Villa la Lupe was the scenario for such a good time athletes’ families had, enjoying the delights of Guantanamo nature through this project created by the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz in 2000.
Its main purpose is to serve athletes, sports personalities and former professional athletes also including those who have attained the degrees of masters and doctors.
This program takes into account a number of actions ranging from visits to the athletes´ homes during and after the competition, specialized medical care through an agreement signed by the Sport Institute and the Ministry of Public Health up the process of socialization.
In socialization, families of athletes pertaining to high performance centers, get together to know each other better and exchange ideas. In order to achieve a more socialize group, the commissions have implemented actions including talks, walks, cultural activities and visits to recreation centers like the one shown in this image as a sign of why Guantánamo stands as one of the best provinces carrying out this program.
