Dayron Robles, Olympic Champion in Beijing 2008 in the 110 m hurdles, was absent at the Paris Diamond League in Athletics Friday, where David Oliver leads the event with the season´s best record (12.89) followed by Ryan Wilson USA (13.12) and Ronnie Ash USA (13.21).
On Wednesday, his coach Santiago Antunez, told the British press that the Guantanamo athlete is physically exhausted after a strong European tour.
Antunez said he did not have any injury. He has not recovered from the race in Lausanne (13.01 seconds), and the legs are a bit loaded. “He just needs a little rest, so we do not want to take risks”.
Robles will compete in Europe again on August 13 and 14 in London and 19 in Zurich.
The next athlete´s performance will take place depending on his physical fitness, so it is not confirmed his presence at the Athletics League in Monaco, scheduled for August 12.
