Cuban Judokas stand out at Brazilian Grand Prix

The Cuban press today highlighted the performance of the island judokas Geidy Abreu, Asley Gonzalez and Kaliema Antomachín in the Grand Prix (GP) by teams of Brazil.

Abreu, in more than 70 kilograms, was key in the first place of the selection Flamingo because her victory in the end decided the title of the team, in the city of Sao Paulo, home of the event, said the National Information Agency.

Besides Abreu´s gold medal, the Cuban judokas won the bronze of Antomachín (over 70 kilos) with the Minas, who won the medal.

For his part, in the men´s competition highlighted the performance of Gonzalez (silver) with the Bello Horizonte, winning eight fights held in the 90 kilograms.

For the Caribbean island also competed Oscar Braison (90) and Jose Armenteros (90) with the teams of Salvador de Bahía and Rio de Janeiro, which ended in the fifth and seventh places respectively.

In the event competed 18 teams (male and female) and the organizers allow the inclusion in each of them of a judoka from another state and one foreign, in order to guarantee the quality.

The categories convened between ladies were the 52, 57, 63, 70 and more than 70 kilos, while men competed in 66, 73, 81, 90, and more than 90.

    Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up
    and let you know a few of the images aren’t loading properly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue.
    I’ve tried it in two different web browsers and both show the same outcome.
