With in just a few days the Guantanamo Indians will have its first baseball game against Industriales as part of the 52ndBaseball National Championship at the Nguyen Van Troi Stadium to start Sunday and they give the retouches to their preparation.
Coach Ruben Prevot still seeks new strategies along with the working team in search of a good debut.
“We know that the first 45 games are determining to qualify, so we need to have a good start with the best offense, defense and pitching so that we can guarantee the victory in every game. Discipline and the team´s work are crucial. That will enable the successes.” He said.
Among the favorite teams in the qualifying round are the national champion Ciego de Avila, Industriales, Villa Clara, Cienfuegos and Matanzas, but we consider we can qualify as there is a well defined central line, a strong team, a good pitching staff with, right and left handers´ balance and a stable line up with which we can have the better offense results in the games.
He encouraged fans to be confident and support their team since the very beginning of the Series. The Indians will try to finish among the first places in this championship which starts Sunday with the game Industriales vs Ciego de Avila at the Jose Ramon Cepero stadium.
During the week, the team under the management of Orlando Jarrosay scheduled games in order to adjust the pitching regime and the possible line up to be used against Industriales.
For the Indians´ debut on Tuesday, Coach Prevot will use players such as Georbis Duvergel as first bat, a talented center field and ex member of the national line up; Dainer Moreira as the second, Yoilan Cerce as the third, in the fourth bat will be Vismay Santos and Yoenis Southeran as the fifth. Pitchers staff will be headed by Dalier Hinojosa, member of the Cuba´s team and Frank Navarro.
The Industriales-Ciego de Ávila game will give the start of a championship where 16 teams will try to be included among the first eight to fight for the crown at the 52nd Baseball National Series.
